Ughill is a small rural hamlet in Bradfield Parish in the English city of Sheffield. It is located 8 kilometres west-northwest of the city core. It is located about 280 meters above sea level on a ridge between Bradfield Dale and the valley of the Ughill Brook. It has traditionally been a farming community, but mining occurred in the area in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. The town of Ughill is supposed to have been created in the 10th century by a group of Norwegian Vikings, and the name comes from the Old Norse language. Ughill’s notable structures are Ughill Manor, Ughill Hall, and Upper House.
