Manor, Sheffield, South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority, England, S2 1PL, United Kingdom
Manor was named after Sheffield Manor and is located near Manor Park. Manor Castle ward is one of the city’s 28 electoral wards, and it covers the areas of Claywood, Manor, Manor Park, Park Hill, and Wybourn. It is 5.4 km2 in size and is located in the eastern section of Sheffield. It is part of the Sheffield Central constituency. Until the 1930s, the area was primarily rural, with dwellings only along the main roadways. To alleviate overpopulation in central Sheffield, the estate was founded in the 1930s as a garden city-style development. The Sheffield Supertram presently serves Manor Top. From the late 1990s forward, large portions of the estate were dismantled and, in some cases, rebuilt using private funds.
