Hillsborough, Sheffield, South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority, England, S6 4HF, United Kingdom
Hillsborough is a Sheffield suburb in the English county of South Yorkshire. The district’s epicentre is widely regarded as ‘Hillsborough Corner,’ where Langsett Road, Middlewood Road, Holme Lane, and Bradfield Road all intersect. Hillsborough House, which was build and named in 1779 in honour of the Earl of Hillsborough, County Down, inspired the name of the suburb. Hillsborough Barracks, Hillsborough House, which is now the Hillsborough branch library, Hillsborough Arena in Hillsborough Park, Owlerton Stadium, and Regent Court flats are among the district’s landmarks. Hillsborough is also the name of Sheffield Wednesday FC’s home stadium.
