Oughtibridge is a residential settlement in North Sheffield within the boundaries of the Bradfield Civil Parish. The village is located in the Don River Valley, 8 km northwest of the city centre. The population of the village has increased significantly in recent years due to the construction of private housing. Oughtibridge’s origins date back to his early 12th century, when there was a shoal across the river Don. Oughtibridge’s modern development has turned it into a commuter village with many residents working in nearby Sheffield and much of the local industry making way for private housing developments. Oughtibridge has approximately 1,355 homes, 79% of which are owned. It has a significantly lower percentage of rental properties compared to the rest of Sheffield.
