Woodsetts, Rotherham, South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority, England, United Kingdom
Old English Wodesettes, which translates to „fold in a wood“, is where the name Woodseats originates. Nether Woodseats was little more than a cluster of cottages centred on a road known as ‘The Dale,’ which connected Woodseats Road and Chesterfield Road. The Woodseats Festival is held annually, with the inaugural one taking place in July 2006. Woodseats is home to a number of public houses. Guzzle MicroPub on Chesterfield Road serves great cask and keg ales brewed locally. The Chantrey Arms were named after the sculptor Sir Francis Chantrey, who was born in Norton close. The Abbey has a trapezoidal bowling green and is one of Sheffield’s last pubs to keep its bowling equipment.
