Lincoln, Lincolnshire, England, United Kingdom
Lincoln is the county town of Lincolnshire, England, as well as a cathedral city and a non-metropolitan district. The Lincoln district had a population of 103,813 according to the 2021 Census. The Roman Lindum Colonia grew out of an Iron Age hamlet on the Witham River. Lincoln Cathedral (English Gothic architecture; for over 200 years the world’s tallest building) and the 11th-century Norman Lincoln Castle are both landmarks. The city is home to the University of Lincoln, Bishop Grosseteste University, Lincoln City Football Club, and Lincoln United Football Club. Lincoln is the county’s major town. Lincoln’s economy is mostly based on government, business, arable farming, and tourism, with industrial relics like as Ruston (now Siemens) persisting, while many of Lincoln’s industrial behemoths have discontinued production, leaving empty industrial warehouse-like buildings.
