Totley, Sheffield, South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority, England, S17 4AE, United Kingdom
Totley is a Sheffield suburb located in the city’s extreme southwest. Totley’s main industry has historically been agriculture, and some farms still exist today. The brooks that run through the village have been used as a source of power for modest industrial operations since at least the 17th century, in addition to agriculture. Several mills, in particular, have stood on Old Hay Brook, carrying out activities such as lead smelting, maize grinding, blade manufacturing, and paper rolling. The Totley Brick Works on Baslow Road is the only remaining industry.
