Mansfield is a market town in Nottinghamshire and the administrative centre of Mansfield District. It is a market town with a 700-year-old market tradition; it received a Royal Charter in 1227. The current market square was built after demolition under the 1823 Improvement Act. A museum, the Palace Theatre, restaurants, fast-food outlets, taverns, bars, and nightclubs are all nearby. Titchfield Park is located next to the Water Meadows swimming complex and features wide grassy spaces on both sides of the Maun River, which is traversed by two footbridges. It contains a bowling green, hard tennis courts, a basketball court, a kids’ play area, and numerous flowerbeds.
