High Stones is the highest point in South Yorkshire at 550 metres (1,804 ft) and lies on Howden Moor within the Dark Peak. This wild and windswept summit is a true taste of the remote uplands. The summit is marked by a stone cairn and provides breathtaking, uninterrupted views over Bleaklow and Kinder Scout. It is a rewarding challenge for experienced hikers.
